Citizens for Global Solutions is seeking a Director of Outreach to work at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The successful candidate will be a college graduate with a minimum of three to five years of increasingly responsible experience -- and looking to take the next step -- in outreach and communications for nonprofit organizations, including experience with building a grassroots membership, coordinating volunteer activists, and managing advocacy campaigns through both electronic means and mass mail. Responsibilities will include communication with chapters, members and supporters; coordination with grassroots leaders and activists; development of activist training materials and programs; coordination of online activism and fundraising; organizing state-based constituent networks; managing local contractors; and organizing national and regional membership conferences and events. The Outreach Director will join the management team and participate in strategic planning and message development and coordination. The successful candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively and within time and budget constraints, infectious creativity and enthusiasm for the organization's goals. He or she will serve as a spokesperson for the organization and must be willing to travel within the United States as needed. A competitive salary and benefits are offered. Citizens for Global Solutions is seeking a Director of Program and Policy to work out of its headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The successful candidate will be a college graduate with a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in researching and developing policy positions for a nonprofit organization or a government agency. Responsibilities will include aggregating and summarizing policy research and ideas; maintaining current policy and programmatic content on the organization’s website; recruiting and managing writers and program staff and coordinating with the Director of Development in indentifying and seeking grant opportunities. The Director of Program and Policy will maintain high level relationships with the organization’s institutional allies and develop relationships with public officials and their staffs, foundations, donors, journalists, and other nonprofit organizations. The Director of Program and Policy will join the management team and participate in strategic planning and message development and coordination. The successful candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, keen intellect, the ability to work collaboratively and within time and budget constraints, and enthusiasm for the organization's goals.
