PRESS RELEASE: Citizens for Global Solutions Mourns Lantos’s Passing

Washington, D.C. – Citizens for Global Solutions today expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Representative Tom Lantos, Democrat of California and Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Statement from Senior Fellow, Raj Purohit:

"Tom Lantos was a leader and a friend to all those around the world who fought for democracy and human rights. He led on virtually every human rights issue in recent history, from the fight against the Nazis during the Holocaust to the current mass atrocities in Darfur.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, especially his wife, Annette. His presence in Congress will certainly be missed, but his legacy will live on for decades to come.”
