PRESS RELEASE: Multimedia Contest off and Running

Citizens for Global Solutions, in partnership with the Better World Campaign and its “On Day One”, launched our 2008 Multimedia Contest, which this year focuses on international solutions to the Darfur crisis in Western Sudan .

The contest seeks submissions of an array of multimedia genres—including flash movies, documentaries, animation, and spoken word—that address U.S. policy in Sudan and ways in which it can be improved. Specifically, the multimedia projects will focus on Peacekeeping or the International Criminal Court (ICC) as effective tools for ending the Darfur genocide, or alternatively, how the international community can work collaboratively to bring the violence to an end.

Through the contest, Citizens for Global Solutions seeks to provide a creative medium through which students and young people can make known their concerns about U.S. role in the world and responsible foreign policy, as well as illustrate innovative, possible solutions to the world’s most critical problems.

Entries will be accepted until October 1, 2008. The Best-In-Show winner will be awarded $2,000, and the winners of four submission categories will receive $500. Visit www.globalsolutions.org for more details and to engage in the discussion on global challenges.
