LEGISLATION: Expressing the sense of the House that the United States should meet its obligations to women

H.Res. 146 introduced in the House by Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30) on February 8, 2007

Expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that U.N. member states allow for greater representation of women in decision making processes, especially when dealing with conflict resolution. It also encourages the U.N. to take special care to ensure the safety of women and girls from gender-based violence in conflict zones. Also requests that the Secretary of State investigate the impact of women on decision making processes and the effect of armed conflict on women and girls.
