Our Structure

Like a number of advocacy groups in the U.S., Citizens for Global Solutions is composed of two distinct, yet closely related, non-profit corporate entities: Citizens for Global Solutions and Citizens for Global Solutions Education Fund.

Individuals are invited to join as members of Citizens for Global Solutions and support our work by taking action via our advocacy website, volunteering as a citizen activist in one of our many local Chapters and Community Groups, and contributing financially to further our efforts. Our activists are encouraged to share information and best practices with one another, as well as provide feedback to help improve our future activities. A 10-person Grassroots Leaders Council is elected each year by our Chapter leaders to receive and relay the views and perspectives of members and supporters on a range of issues. Members are invited to come to Washington to participate in our annual "Lobby Day" on Capitol Hill, as well as attend an informative educational seminar led by the staff and other policy experts.

Members are also encouraged to make tax-deductible donations to the Citizens for Global Solutions Education Fund. Subject to federal tax codes that clearly define the educational programs it can carry out, the Education Fund is precluded from supporting electoral activities and can expend only a small part of its resources on influencing legislation. While the Education Fund is autonomous and is governed by its own Board of Directors, it works closely with Citizens for Global Solutions in pursuing our shared mission and vision.

One project of the Education Fund is to provide support for the World Federalist Institute, an internal ?think-tank? tasked with the challenge of generating new and creative models of effective, democratic global governance.

We support candidates running for office through contributions from our political action committee (PAC), helping elect public officials who share our values and support the vision we seek to achieve.
